We've gotten word that the Tesla permit has passed in Edison, NJ. The supercharger will be located at 199 Lafayette Avenue, Edison, NJ. Hopefully construction will start soon! Google Maps - http://goo.gl/mtUFKE Tesla Wiki Supercharger Map - http://www.teslawiki.net/supercharger/ (needs to be updated with new location) City Agenda - http://www.edisonnj.org/document_center/Agenda_January_28__2014.pdf
This looks fairly close to the exit a mile and a half with all the ramps perhaps. Amazing that it is probably going to be within site of the Home | The Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park which shows up on Google Maps as the Thomas Alva Edison Memorial Tower and Museum. Can't wait to hit this one!
From what I understand they still need to get permits, all they got was approval to put it there not the permits to actually start work.
I still don't think the permits have been issues yet. Edit: Central New Jersey Charging Station plans!! (maybe)
I have the name of the person who approves the electrical permits in Edison, hopefully I will be able to call him on Thursday. I am about 15 minutes from the site, so I should be able to give progress reports and photos when construction starts. (I will be away the first week of March btw.)
No progress as of 3/15/14 at lot across the street from McDonalds. The other half of the lot is still covered by snow that was piled there.
Are you talking about how slow the supercharger is taking to build in NJ and thinking it's not a coincidence given the recent developments to prevent Tesla to sell direct to customers in NJ.
I fully expect the Supercharger rollout to continue as planned. It was indeed a reference to Tesla setting up shop in Edison. Just thought it was a little comical.
I was there at the Menlo Park Mall yesterday and haven’t seen any progress, wish someone at Tesla can give us an appx time frame at least… People from this thread don’t seem to like the location…due to traffic… http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/17754-Where-is-the-new-Supercharger-going-to-be-in-NJ-Any-confirms/page25 In my view traffic is everywhere
