Supercharge.info is indicating a permit for a 10-stall 120kW supercharger at a Shell gas station along the Route Transcanadienne on the eastern edge of Edmundston. There is a Timmy's open 24/7 connected to the gas station. There is also a Subway and a casino nearby.

The distance between the two is ~170km, which is a perfectly respectable distance for a sparse network.
I would think Woodstock would be higher priority, since it's right in the middle of (and would link) the three easternmost SCs, and is on a major junction. But Edmunston (and Medway, ME, and Salisbury NB) should not be far behind.
Of course they are constrained by various practical factors, and know more about their users than I do (obviously).
With Baileyville, Medway, and Edmunston in permit (and no action in Elmsdale), it seems like Aulac was the anomaly, and they've gone back to their general policy of building out from the existing network, rather than creating SC 'islands'.
Driving from Halifax to Brewer, ME is a bit of a pain with only the Aulac station, but it's doable with only 2 longish stops for lunch/dinner/whatever. Since it is a 680 km / 7 hour driving time trip, it seems that plausible that many people making that trek could make such a stop.
Maybe Tesla figured if they built Aulac it would at least open up Halifax to the US (more or less).
Or maybe these things just happen when permits and local land owners and leases all fall into place and maybe Tesla doesn't have complete control over timing.
I made Brewer to Aulac in one shot but that was in summer weather, about 20C and not much wind. I went slightly over the speed limit the whole way and don't remember how much battery I had left but I know I wasn't sweating it. Obviously could have made Halifax from there, but it was Labour Day weekend and all the hotels in NS were full so I turned around and headed west.

I wrote the Power Centre which is the name of the complex which hosts the Casino, the truck stop, food court, hotel (coming soon) and more.
Right up front I thanked them for already being hosts of EV charging stations (L2 at St-Hubert restaurant since 2016 and L2+CHAdeMO outside the truck stop in partnership with NB Power since 2017).
I then asked if, on top of that, Supercharger stations for Tesla vehicles were coming as well.
The answer this morning was that they are pleased to announce that, in effect, the Tesla Superchargers are already functional.
Not currently on the map at Tesla.com

I limit myself to one request in order to not harass any host nice enough to offer Superchargers.
You may write them if you wish, but they might find a question about color a bit odd. Instead you could ask them if they look like the ones at Riviere du Loup (provide a link) or like the NB Power ones (furnish a link to their own CHAdeMO)!

The response I received about Tesla Superchargers being up and running appears to be a mistake caused by confusing Superchargers with other EV charging stations. It's an easy error to make in New Brunswick where EV-awareness is currently low.
However, the response was from the co-owner of not only the truck-stop/Shell but also of the overall development. If there had been serious negotiations with Tesla, the owner would know to differentiate Superchargers from other units.
So, l think there is either no permit at the site identified by supercharge.info or there's a semi-stealthy installation just waiting to be switched on. (The latter is unlikely).

Interestingly, Brewer to Aulac is just about the same road km as brewer to Halifax, if you take the Digby - St. John ferry. If only you could charge up on the ferry!
I agree. I was thinking that ferry charging would be great for the NS-NFLD ferries too. L2 would be great on those boats, given the 7 or 16 hour sailing times...
I am not aware of onboard charging being offered on any ferries, but there are ferry ports that offer charging. Not bad, since you often have to arrive an hour or more before the ferry departure.
Back to Edmundston. Does anyone know the source for the permit appearing on supercharge.info?
A family member with close ties to the City was told that Tesla has a construction permit for a supercharger in Edmundston, but did not give any indication as to where. I do not think the First Nation needs a construction permit from the City as it is a First Nation Reserve and technically not part of Edmundston. That would lead me to believe that the Supercharger will be outside the reserve. Thoughts?
