I’ve only charged at Superchargers a few times so I’m not 1000% sure (I’m a new owner) but yes the cable did feel considerably thinner and lighter.Thin cables like v3?
Pretty Cool!! Now living in East Bay with two Superchargers Live (Richmond, Emeryville) and two coming (El Cerrito, Berkeley) I feel like I will be in heaven when I buy my Tesla!
That's 175 kW max so I'm assuming that's V2.It says 500V and 350A on the inside label, and there are no pairing labels in the pictures that I can see. Cables *look* thinner...
Is that enough to say it’s V3? Exciting either way!
Oh lol, you're right.That's 175 kW max so I'm assuming that's V2.
Yea you're right. Not sure what they consider nominal then. Here's EA's 150 kW and 350 kW and that doesn't seem to match nameplate either.Oh lol, you're right.
But this is interesting, when I look at this reddit thread about the Fremont 250kW supercharger, it is also labeled at 500V/350A.
Fremont's new V3 superchargers 250kw : TeslaLounge
The Pedestal rating is 100% duty cycle. It can deliver more current for short periods. It really is V3. The V3 cabinets clearly show how to get to 250kW - the output is up to 631A.That's 175 kW max so I'm assuming that's V2.
Well, the charger boxes are still wrapped, and there is no transformer:I’ve only charged at Superchargers a few times so I’m not 1000% sure (I’m a new owner) but yes the cable did feel considerably thinner and lighter.
I also plugged in my car for s***s and giggles and nothing happened
No transformer as of last night.Looking at a photo from a local Facebook group taken this morning. It has the backs of the pedestals off, charger cabinets unwrapped, cones and caution tape across the stalls, definitely one and possibly two work trucks there. Can't see from the photo whether there's a transformer or not.
Bruce.
Given how close and polished everything seems, is it fair to say the supercharger's "opening" is set to come before the end of Q1? Even earlier? Roughly how much more to do is there after a transformer is installed?
The usual sequence from this point is something like: Finish construction, inspections and signoffs, install utility transformer, hookup and testing by Tesla, energize, add to the in-car Nav and Tesla Web site.
Emeryville Supercharger is finally live and operational!! It took a loooooong time but East Bay is officially having it's own supercharger! (If we do not consider Alameda as one)
