Supercharger - Fairfax, VA - Fairfax Blvd.

Excited to reawaken this old thread of mine...

We were driving on Route 50 tonight and my wife pointed out that there's a Wawa going in just west of Fairfax Circle, at 9700 Fairfax Boulevard. I immediately thought of the possibility that the long-expected Fairfax SuC could be placed there. This website has the Fairfax City permit documents and site map.

I found this in the most recent report on that site:

So far only demolition of the old Rodeway Inn and some earth work. Nothing Supercharger-specific yet.

Quite a bit of activity happening at the Fairfax Blvd Wawa site today. No construction yet - just more ground prep.

I went by there last week and based on the activity I saw, I would guess that the petroleum tanks are now in the ground on the east side of the lot. Nothing listed yet in the Coming Soon section of the Wawa website. Guessing Spring 2022 for the store & gas station; hopefully not to long after for the SuCs.

I knew it would happen soon. I drove by about two weeks ago and the Wawa was coming along nicely. Nice to see the Tesla equipment on-site.

Yes. I’ve been following this build for over a year - there is discussion earlier on in this thread. There was a permit for EV charging but it didn’t specifically mention Tesla, although I suspected that’s who it was for.

I’ve asked the moderators to split the discussion of Fairfax Blvd into its own thread.

Can confirm construction. The entire site is a beehive of activity. Landscapers, fire techs, and many more. It has the feeling of a mad dash to get the place open.

Electricians are there and working on the SC install too. The power cabinets are being stored by the fuel pumps at the moment.

Wawa Grand Opening is tomorrow (Thursday, September 1). Hopefully the SuC will be up and running! Also, the Wawa is offering free coffee for the first ten days they're open.

Wawa had their grand opening today, without operational Superchargers. The executive types who were walk around mentioned that it would open next week.
