Thanks to a member of the Triangle Tesla group for finding this one. Looks like it's under construction off of I-95 Exit 49 across the street from the Cracker Barrel.
Was there last night and base on some users form the Raleigh area should be online today or tomorrow.
Fayetteville looks almost completed. Big 16 stalls set up. Behind the Hilton Double Tree, next to cracker barrel. 1965 Cedar Creek Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28312 I-95 at Exit 49
That's pretty interesting to me. On most of my long road trips, I try to find places to stop for the night somewhere between SC locations, instead of trying to find a hotel near a SC. That way, I can do a quick night-time charge about an hour before stopping for the night, get to the hotel and not have to worry about how/when to charge or leaving my car too long at a charging location... then get up and drive an hour or so to the next SC, stop, get breakfast and do a full charge that morning. It's worked really well for me. What's interesting is that same Double Tree hotel in Fayetteville is where I've stayed several times between charging at Rocky Mount and Lumberton.
No official time on when this is going to go live. The Tesla techs where there working on the set up. He did told me the 4 stalls on the outside left side will be working tonight but not officially listed yet on the web site.
I’ll go back later tonight to c if they are working. I will say another 2 days and it should be online.
All stalls are lighted up. The 4 stations on the side are working and 3 of them clear and available to charge.
Small station - sometimes busy and sharing the load. And worse, just a very, very sketchy area. I've observed lots of really odd things going on in the parking lot. I've never felt unsafe, but others with me have. Just sort of a yucky stop.
The Tesla engineer that is working on site told me today that Fayetteville should be open in a week but is ok to use the 3 outside the fence for now. I added this station on plug share. I’ll keep going there every day and posting here.
The 3 stations that were available now are fenced. But for the main 12 the fence area is open. They are hot but still not officially open.
This, plus the other additions along 95, will change my charging pattern for my trips between Charleston SC and Cherry Hill NJ.
7:13 pm. Spoke to the crew just now. The station is open except some corners they have fence for the concrete to dry up They are putting the light poles and that should be done in the next 30 minutes. Most of it now is clean up landscaping and should be 100% by Wednesday
Quick update. Area now illuminated with new light poles. 12 chargers in-line available the 4 outside are still fenced in. Great progress.
Same status today. They just added another light pole by the 4 stations fenced and little more clean up. Bad weather might be holding them up.
