Supercharger - Forks, WA

In all seriousness, I wish that was a thing like the NEMA 5-20R being able to accept both 5-20 and 5-15 plugs. A NEMA 14-60P that can accept 14-30, 14-50, and 14-60 plugs would be great for garages.
Well, some of the cords and adapters that EVSEAdapters sells are like that. They refer to them as 14-XX plugs, because they leave off that neutral pin, so it does have physical compatibility to plug into 14-60, 14-50, or 14-30 receptacles.

I wonder if I will be able to charge before I leave tomorrow afternoon...

Sites like this are why Tesla will win in the end. They invest in locations that are rarely used, but are necessary for "full coverage". No other company would put chargers in the least populated places.

Electrify America have been rolling out L3 chargers at an impressive rate but their rollout plan does not include anything outside of urban areas and major interstates. EA doesn't have any chargers planned on the 101 in Oregon and WA.

Wow. And you're from Bend, OR, so the counterexample that proves this is a gross over generalization is right near you. The route through eastern Oregon to connect Boise to Winnemucca on US highway 95 finally got connected with DC fast charging after years of waiting, by Greenlots, not Tesla.

EEEEeeeeeekk! With Forks scheduled to have a winter-rare two days! of full sun Mon & Tues, I really would like to take advantage of being at present, more or less in the area, and get there. Hurry, workcrew!

No Transformer set and SC cabinets do not appear to be on site either. Sorry folks if you're hoping for a quick open for Forks it's not going to happen.

For a site recap start of construction September 2019 it's now February 2020 6 plus months to build a site what a joke! Who's running this *sugar* show at Tesla... SMH...

For comparison it took Tesla only 10 months to build G3 in China, 14 days to complete the SC in Tigard, Oregon, 23 days to complete the SC in Cle Elum, WA and 7 weeks to complete the SC in Leavenworth, WA. Seems like the people that were kicking ass on these earlier sites are either in China now dying from Corona Virus with side of lime disease or no longer with Tesla.

This is the problem when desktop engineers step out of the office into the real world thinking they have "project management skills". haha...

weird. The pedestals are installed but pretty much nothing else? Usually they are one of the last things to arrive.

Tesla doesn’t hold all power during supercharger construction. There are a lot of things that can delay opening so your statement is not completely true

haha... You don't start any project without everything procured and secured. This SC project like so many others SCs cross NA were started without all the equipment, materials, and stakeholders lined up.

Forks permitting requirements are beyond simplistic (if any actually applied here) in that only an incompetent individual(s) could screw it up to cause a delay. Beside, the primary permit here is the WA L&I Electric permit, which is an online application with zero plan review, ie no delay ever. It is simply piss poor management/planning by Tesla and incompetent individual(s) that made the call to start sites like this one, without everything ready, period.

Yeah, a competent project manager has everything delivered on day one of ground breaking with projects this small. How do you think Tigard, OR, Cle Elum, WA and Leavenworth, WA were completed so quickly? Note that both Cle Elum, WA and Leavenworth, WA SCs where full development projects meaning raw dirt to complete in those time frames.

Planning Planning Planning... Clearly some incompetent individual(s) are on point for these delayed sites across NA.

Awww yes they do, they control everything accept permitting and there were zero permitting delays here.

Tesla manufactures, procures and supplies 95% of everything you see on these projects except utility transformers, labor and equipment to complete the work.

99% in their total control so 100% their responsibility for delays.

... or this supercharger is a backburner project and they work on it when they get a chance, but it isn't a priority...

I would agree with that if this site was the outlier over the past 13 months but in the PNW alone, Blaine, WA, Auburn, WA, Moses Lake, WA, Spokane,WA and now Bothell, WA have all been delayed from 2 to 8 months so that perspective just does not hold water. This does not even touch on all the other delayed SCs across NA over the same period of time.
