I appreciate the updates. Coming to town mid-July. Maybe it will just be operational by then. Maybe not!Site work underway. Contractor mentioned some of the trenching is a bit tricky with a gas line and fiber running close nearby. Expected it could take 3-4 weeks to complete other than utility work which sounds about right. Tesla equipment not yet on-site.
These guys are commuting in daily to the job site unlike some of the other companies with projects in the area, some of whom are hoteling for the work week.

And per a conversation with a Tesla Energy employee working on preparing the Burlington supercharger for commissioning in a few weeks, equipment for Gloucester is expected to be delivered late this week.Sunday update - forms for the supercharger pads underway and work continues on the trench to the transformer with some conduit already in place. Good to hear that. And per a conversation with a Tesla Energy employee working on preparing the Burlington supercharger for commissioning in a few weeks, equipment for Gloucester is expected to be delivered late this week.
They are not working 24-7? Thanks for checking out the progress.A late night/early morning visit to Gloucester revealed the following... no additional equipment onsite yet, but the supercharger and transformer pads are taking form, and the trench feeding power to the site is progressing in the right direction.View attachment 820337
We wish... this crew commutes in daily from home, so likely has fewer hours on the job vs. other sites where crews hotel for the week. Can't be sure (they put in fewer working hours onsite) in fairness to the crew doing this job - but seems likely. They are not working 24-7? Thanks for checking out the progress.
Tuesday update. Tesla equipment on-site. Pedestal bases in the process of being installed. Supercharger and transformer forms looked done awaiting concrete poor. View attachment 822301View attachment 822302
Sort of related... for those looking for L2 charging in the area - the newish YMCA adjacent to the Gloucester Crossing shopping center has a bunch of ChargePoint stations. They tend to be fairly open during the day, but busier at night as a bunch of people that live in the nearby apartment complex charge there overnight (great to see!).
Rockport installed some L2 public charging last year. Six plugs downtown in the resident only lot at town hall (EV charging exempted from resident restriction) and at the park-and-ride lot as you come into town. They are just now installing the final set of L2 plugs on Atlantic Ave at the Headlands, about a ten minute walk from downtown. As of this past weekend the pedestals were in, but still bagged (waiting for utility hookup perhaps?). The locations are listed on the Rockport EV Charging web page, and are/will be on PlugShare and ChargePoint sites too.
Now, if we can just get some CCS DC fast charging added to Gloucester Crossing to cover non-Tesla demand.
Nice to see public charging options finally coming to this area which had previously been a charging wasteland.
