The gizmo on the trailer labelled Vermeer looks like a horizontal drill for pushing cable.
It's a pipe pusher. No drilling involved. It pushes its own pipe hydraulically (little or no rotation) near the surface through the ground from right next to the machine to a target hole dozens to perhaps 100 feet away. Observe it's pipe racked on the side of the machine. When it breaks through to the target hole, seamless pipe or conduit is attached to the end and pulled back to the starting point.

Great for running something under a parking lot or a road without breaking concrete or disrupting traffic.

Any updates or pics for this site? Can someone local ask the crew when they plan to finish up?
That's not going to give the information you are hoping for. There about 50 things that have to happen after the construction crew finishes what you see them doing now. The biggest thing is that there are multiple sequential activities (mostly inspections) from various disconnected groups that have their own schedules and priorities.

A bit off topic: Anyone have experience with the Grafton Chademo? I'm (hopefully) going on an August trip from Portage La Prairie, MB to Chicago in a MYP and that seems like the only reasonable bailout fastcharger along the route, if the Grand Forks SC isn't operational. Can't really seem to find any info on the ZEFNET and how to activate it etc...

The picture on Plugshare seems to show a tap card reader in the middle of the pedestal. Comments say 30¢ a minute for DCFC. Based on my experience with the Petrocan ChaDEMO charger, figure on 37A to 50A? Is that how it works?

This says register for the Chargehub passport (free?) and pay the fee for charging...

I suppose I'll have to learn how this works too (just in case) when I get around to travelling down there...

Scrolling down on this page seems to suggest you still need to sign up for and download app for ZEF Energy?
But buried in this press release is an offhand comment that Chargehub membership will let you pay for ZEF.
