Photos taken today. Construction guy was clearly waiting for a Tesla rep as he came up asking me if I was with Tesla since I arrived in a Tesla. Pretty funny. Tesla would be happy... He wouldn't answer any questions. Still lots of construction stuff happening so this site won't be operational for awhile.
Gotta love seeing more of these sites suddenly coming online to try and meet the end of 2017 tag for most of them. Did I count correctly and this is another 20 charger location?
Touring. Taking round about routes and checking out superchargers. It's my hobby and a great excuse to get out and drive. I plan routes that take me to charging locations new to me. Added five charger locations to my list today alone.
Mainly superchargers. There are enough of being installed that it is impossible to keep up. I check out destination chargers to some degree but mainly when there is an interesting opportunity associated with them.
Interesting you are up here in the winter, when so many Canadians head south to escape the cold and snow. Hope you have good tires for the snow. Enjoy your visit. You must have a bagillion kilometres on the car.
Since my last photo set posted on Dec 20th, there's only minor further visible progress to report.
Photo 1: Compared to Dec 20's 3rd photo, we now have the concrete curb completed along the 20 chargers.
Photo 2 & 3: Compared to Dec 20's 2nd photo, some new black materials have been loosely tossed around the rectangular concrete hole. The ditch running between the concrete hole and the transformer pad is now covered by orange tarp but the pile of waiting yellow pipes looks unchanged.
I contacted CF and they didn't know when the completion date is. Told me to check Tesla website. I also asked if they will be having some kind of ceremony but he wasn't sure either, had to speak to marketing.
Thanks for all the reports. Given who runs construction in Hamilton, I wouldn't expect this to open soon. Tesla indicates open by "the end of 2018," which may not be accurate, although who knows…
That seems to be winters up here recently. Coming a bit earlier with a couple great storms before and after Christmas, then a thaw in January, and then winter just sorta limps along in fits and starts until May.
