Awesome! Too bad it won't be ready for my Sept visit. We've had to use that mobile SC on SPI last time. Fortunately our condo was right down the street, but half the time, one of those stalls were ICE'd.

I was there during lunch hour, so the crews were taking it easy in the shade.

Slowly but surely, it's getting there. What a great place for a Supercharger - lots of choices of eateries and right on the Interstate.

Really just overly busy, stuck in the corner of that HEB parking lot, plus when I go to the valley and most others are too - I am headed to SPI to my condo. Brownsville + charging adds an extra hour either way. Because until now Kingsville would be the next stop North, you pretty much have to charge in SPI or Brownsville to get there. You have to get off the highway, fiddle through traffic lights, deal with the grocery store parking lot, etc. I get why its there - easier to get over to Boca Chica from there - but still, Im way happy about Harlingen. Its a way better location overall.

Right, Brownsville is not on the way to South Padre Island for most of us who come from the north or west.

With all the equipment sitting there and the charger pedestals already in place so concrete pour completed, it seems unlikely to take that long. Once started these supercharger constructions usually only take a little over a month.

According to supercharge.info it’s been under construction for 38 days so far.

Went by today after a morning tourist visit to SpaceX

There is progress compared to 6/22, but they still have a ways to go.

Photo 1. The landscaping is filling in dirt around the installed charger bases, covering an irrigation system. That looks to almost be done.

Photo 2: a crew was hard at work today installing conduit underneath where the big box transformers/inverters will be installed. Finished 2, and working in a trench for the third.

Photo 3: Still all those power and other cables to be run.

Photo 4: those poor lopsided torn leaning boxes also shown in Photo 1 are full of the chargers.

Wow, great! That’s a lot of progress since last Friday! Great to see most of the superchargers installed and the pads poured for the big boxes.
