Supercharger - Hartford, CT - Leibert Road

There is a SC in Manchester right off 84 just outside Hartford which is a better location for the NYC to Boston run. This charger is just North of Hartford on 91. Just used the Manchester charger on that trip and it is at the end of an outdoor mall with lots of choices for shopping or eating.

You are absolutely right. This new one would be better for NYC to VT. But the West Springfield charger is only 30 ish miles away just off 91 on that route.

Love that we are getting more out here on the east coast, but this was not a strategic one it would seem.

At least here I can also gas up my car... oh. Yeah.

Closer to NYC/further from VT means lower SOC on arrival therefore faster charging. More convenient bathrooms/longer hours than bathroom options in Springfield (after 10pm, you SOL in Springfield).

Construction progress since the Feb 10th photos in this forum seems minimal. There were no vehicles or people were around today when I stopped by at at 11:30am Monday Feb 25 2019 to have a look, but I hope some of these are helpful to interested folks.

When the superchargers in downtown Hartford opened up, I joked after CT continually voted down Tesla sales in the state, Tesla will surround the capital with chargers. It's starting to look like the truth now. o_O Expecting superchargers in Whethersfield/Newington next.

There may be soon more supercharger stalls in the Hartford area than in the Boston area.

The electrical is now hooked up, conduit covered, and the landscaping around the "pumps" is now done, but some paving up to the curb still needed
The rest of the Pride station is still completely dormant though, with boxes of construction materials inside the main store untouched. No people or cars anywhere today, in the middle of the day.

Just to see if the power had been turned on, I tried connecting my Model 3 (fencing was opened), and nothing happened, no juice, or at least they're not activated yet. Makes sense, given there are NO facilities yet ready (bathrooms, etc). The parking lot seems to have lots of room for future expansion, such as other Electrify America charging, we'll see...

Thanks for stopping by. It will be a shame if they don’t turn it on until the gas station opens which may take forever!

Although the Hadley SC is at the pride station built by the same group and is operational.

Here’s to hoping!

Interesting, thanks @tga, that sounds promising!
For those interested in an informal 4K video tour I recorded today (sorry about the highway traffic noise), here you go:

That place is massive. Thanks for the nice video overview. The empty pad behind the switchgear (the big grey cabinets)--the thing you described as, "There's something that's not done, clearly"-- is probably for the utility transformer which will convert the ~13 kV main power to the 480 V AC that is the input for the supercharger cabinets. A bit surprising that they apparently got their meter installed before the transformer was in and everything was fully wired up and had passed inspection. I guess Hartford does things a bit differently than I've seen in pretty much every other jurisdiction. :)

Stopped by yesterday. Looks like all the finishing touches are there for the superchargers (red caps on all the posts, no exposed conduit) but it is still fenced off and not paved all the way to the curb. Also no progress at the station. Grass is actually growing in the cracks in the pavement... looks almost abandoned. Hopefully they open someday.
