Supercharger - Hewlett, NY (under construction Aug 2024)

A dig ticket has been filed for the northwest back parking lot of the Peninsula Shopping Center at 1368 Peninsula Blvd in Hewlett, NY. This address is for the Food Town of Hewlett but the area mapped is on the other side of the center as noted above as well as being mislabeled as Valley Stream.

Its great that more super chargers are planned for the south shore of Long Island. But I was thinking a better location than Hewlett would be Long Beach or Lick Beach, perhaps near the entrance to the Meadow Brook Parkway.

@corywright @Big Earl @Guacahummus doesn't look like Tesla equipment on site yet but digging in the right area with large diameter conduit.

There were two gentlemen near the white construction van seen in the picture.
They confirmed to me that this is Tesla related.

Near but not. Check on all the businesses in that center where the address is located.

What is confusing, is the border for Hewlett goes through the buildings but not the upper parking lot. The address is a business in Hewlett but the physical location is not. Will be interesting to see how Tesla calls this.

Since construction has started at this location, the map symbol should be changed from a blue cone to an orange cone.

As of July 4, there is no physical evidence of any Tesla equipment on site.
They may prefer to wait until then to designate it as a Tesla construction site

Looks like possible prep work for PSU placement. Two large conduits to each location. But still no equipment.

Not sure I understand your post.

There is definitely 1 PSU with 4 stalls and then at least one more cabinet for 4 more stalls. Will be interesting to see the final layout. And the switchgear being elevated on the cell tower platform…

There are dumpsters on the other side of the fence, but I see no sign of any stalls going back there.
