Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

Does bring to mind what the expected "lifetime" of a Supercharger might be. Most of the original sites from 2012-2013 seem to have been expanded or upgraded. Maybe Barstow still have some original equipment - I haven't been there in a very long time. I may miss my chance with the "original" Inyokern!

I charged in 2019 Thanksgiving weekend at Buckeye AZ and it still had V1 equipment in the cabinets despite the stall monoliths being upgraded to the V2 look. The tech working there was from Tesla France and he explained this was one of the older sites still there n V1. Since it was V1 it was still 120 kW max. I charged their last in Oct 2020 not sure if it had had been upgraded to V2 yet.

My guess is they are finishing up with the expansion. Hopefully they will complete the Mojave expansion subsequently.

We have enough juice now to get from Kernville to Lone Pine, otherwise I would have rolled into Inyokern to snap a few pictures.

They had a forklift on site yesterday that was placing the charger units.

Superchargers have been randomly disappearing from the Nav a lot lately, so I wouldn't read anything into it unless someone goes there and sees that the stalls are not functioning. I was there about a week ago and both sides were working.

Further north on Hwy 395, Topaz Lake, AKA Gardnerville, hasn't appeared on Nav for three years, but I charge there every time I drive to Tahoe.
