Looks like there is another Irvine, CA supercharger site in the works:

Irvine, CA 92604

This is in the shopping center on Culver Drive and Walnut Ave. near an EMC Seafood restaurant. The permits are in review, including a related permit for SCE to extend a circuit to this site.

From the electrical permit, it looks like there will be 16 chargers at this site.

This is great. Woodbury shopping center would be a good place too.

So far it seems as if the Irvine Company isn't too interested in building SCs on their properties... Hopefully that changes.

This is a great location with tons of food and shopping around. I'm expecting this to be an urban charger.

I think Irvine probably holds the record for the most number of distinct locations within one locality?

I don't know if that is true or not but this particular map view will also include the Tustin SC right in the middle according to another thread started recently.

Yea. Not to mention Santa Ana, Mission Viejo and a few more within 20 miles radius from it hahah

yeah. The sign at Irvine now says over 20 more chargers coming in Irvine. I can’t remember the number of stalls. But there will be a lot!

Latest update: The permit for SCE to extend a power circuit to this site has been issued as of 12/10/2020. Construction should begin soon.

A couple of construction storage containers have arrived at the site.

Fyi, those containers have been there for a while but the construction supplies that were colocated look like they have been cleaned up

New fences are up in the general area where you'd expect this SC to be. Not 100% this is for SC yet but it is likely.

This location is about as good as you could hope for this shopping center: easy entrance/exit back to the freeway, slightly less traffic than other entrances, and good visibility from Culver. With CVS, Ralphs, Banks, Daiso (!), a bunch of restaurants and presumably 250kw, this will probably be the most convenient SC in the area.

I apologize for the terrible picture but it was rainy and cold and I had a Habit Burger to pickup!

That place parking lot gets pretty busy. Maybe backside by HD has more parking spaces.

Construction has started and looks pretty far along. 10 stalls if I had to guess, but I leave it to you all

Making progress.

It was hard to get a picture with some perspective, but I believe there will be 11 stalls. There are four white tarp wrapped boxes that look like cabinets.
