What are "...generic DC Fast Chargers." mentioned by Tesla?
They are fast chargers that use a non-proprietary plug, the general standard today for new DCFC units/stations is to have both CHAdeMO and CCS plugs. This is good news.

Maybe you can call the mayors office? Below from article above.Any progress on these chargers? This is a crucial spot for charging.
The mayor, Richard Ireland said he would like to see the proposals move forward giving residents and visitors more charging stations in Jasper. “It is the future,” he said.
This often happens when Tesla tries to put superchargers on municipal lands. The municipalities have a responsibility to protect universal access and usage of those public lands that is at odds with the supercharger's proprietary charging standard and restricted access. Plus Tesla invariably tries to structure all their supercharger leases so that they don't pay rent, so the municipality usually isn't being offered direct compensation for allowing that restricted usage. It's really not an easy decision and frankly I'm always a bit surprised whenever they decide to give approval at all. They seem to be really dragging this decision out.

EV location decided
Jasper could soon have a new set of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
Last week, following discussions on private entities using public lands, Jasper Municipal Council voted in favour of designating the municipal parking lot on Connaught Drive, across from Robinsons Foods, as a location for the stations.
Council also authorized mayor Richard Ireland and chief administrative officer Mark Fercho to enter into agreements or grant funding requests required to install municipal or third party EV chargers and infrastructure at the approved parking lot.
Municipal staff are now working with Tesla, ZAAP Charge Inc. and the Town of Edson on potential proposals to install Level 3 EV fast chargers.
Good news bad news - that is a very busy place, and will be ICEd a lot. Perhaps almost all of the time. Perhaps by a few people that park in a charging spot and get on the train. Better than the lots next to the train station though...Jaspers local paper said council approved the designated parking area for chargers!
