Supercharger - Kelso, WA

They really needed this charge location if you go through longview towards astoria... Centralia and Vancouver are fine, but this one lets you head west towards the coast semi-optimally.

from where?

doesn’t Aberdeen help people?

I live in auburn so we charge in seaside but yeah if you’re only going to Astoria I’d probably head to Aberdeen. This one helps give options though!

Kelso helps us a lot. From Portland, we head out HWY 12 East to Randle. Currently, we have to go to Centralia which is 15 miles north of our exit, charge, then head back down to HWY 12. We have to do the same thing on the way home so this adds about an hour each way to our trip and an additional 60 miles.

I'm all for seeing the I-5 corridor be built out, but what I really wonder about is how Tesla prioritizes supercharger locations on a national basis. I lived outside of Oklahoma City until I moved to the Pacific NW in October, 2018. So I pay attention to supercharger construction (or the lack of it) in that area. While there may not be a large number of Tesla vehicles in Oklahoma, I-40 is a major east/west interstate. There is a 375 mile gap from the Oklahoma City supercharger to the one on the south side of Little Rock. There has been a "coming attraction" site for Fort Smith, AR, for years. IMHO, this has got to be the #1 priority location for a supercharger in the country.
Totally agree about the importance of filling that gap. I'm sure Tesla sees it too. It's probably a matter of permitting.

Not much changed from last week. 12 stalls, with room for 4 more 20200222_094452.jpg 20200222_094331.jpg 20200222_094412.jpg . 20200222_094412.jpg 20200222_094421.jpg The Tesla "white boxes" are in place. 20200222_094438.jpg No sign of the utility transformer. All 12 stalls have charging equipment. None of the chargers have their numbers yet (do V3's still have this numbering scheme?). There are some trailers with some large gray flexible tubing, and what might be a horizontal boring machine.
