Also from Marco, but hasn't been shown here at TMC that I know of. An 8 stall Supercharger, submitted last year, approved January 4, 2023.

Permit BCOM2022-0036. 50993 Washington St., La Quinta, CA. Permit search website: eTRAKiT

There's a third site in La Quinta, but that site (permit BCOM2022-0027) shows a status of "expired". I suspect the 20 stall site (BCOM2023-0001) took its place.

I drove by here this morning and I don't see any signs of construction yet. There's quite a few places you could fit an 8 stall station so there's no shortage of space.

They cut down some trees in the middle section which I posted a picture of but they don't look like recent cuts.

The second attachment shows a part of this village that's quite vacant so it might be an ideal spot.

Any pics? Did you see a utility transformer?
Yes the utility transformer looks new. So, I don't know why they haven't turned this on yet but they do need to do some painting and striping and all that stuff.

I just visited this site today. Still roped off with cones. As stated, none of the surface has been painted. Did notice signs that state, "General Parking 30mins." So I assume that anyone would be able to park at charger spaces EV or ICE. This shopping center has excellent Chinese, Thai, and Mexican restaurants so is perfect for we who live in La Quinta (yes tivoboy, over 60K people live here) and for the snowbirds who visit our area.

The transformer in the pic by the transit shelter?

If one looks at the Google street view for 78420 Calle Tampico
here
and turns to the right to the transit shelter, I've selected "see more dates",
and selected the oldest view from Jan 2008, which has empty ground where the US Bank building will be, and while kinda dark, doesn't appear to have any transformer there. The next date, Jan 2012, has the US bank building, the transformer (presumably for the bank), and the bus shelter is now different.

That transformer looks a little bit small for even an 8 stall supercharger.
Is there a transformer pad (concrete slab with a slot toward one side about a foot wide and maybe 4 feet wide in it) over behind the V3 cabinets (white cabinets with the ventilation screen around the top)? (It may be under a sheet of plywood with "hole" sprayed on it).

I'm wondering if your picture with the yellow posts wrapped in caution tape shows the pad for a high voltage distribution switch continuing to the eventual transformer pad for this supercharger. But I've never seen such a skinny pad before. Anybody have any idea?

Yeah, that skinny pad is suspicious since it has what appear to be nice big 4" conduits which is what you'd expect for a transformer.

Someone was on to something here. The transformer in the pic appears to be the same one found on the Google maps view from 4 years ago.

That looks like the transformer all right so maybe it is the other one on the other side (the hole). This one looked new because it looked like the ground around it was all torn up recently but maybe for another reason.

They could have tapped off the old transformer, it looks large enough to be 3 phases, and many transformers allow a loop through of the input to allow for daisy chain expansion. But I don't see any patched asphalt around it.

In the 3rd picture you posted at 11:41, at the extreme right one can see the skinny pad, and beyond (on the other side of the island in the entry off Calle Tampico) it looks like some dirt. Would be nice to see what that's about.
One can also see patched asphalt from the skinny pad to the equipment area.

I'm wondering if they're feeding this from the back of this shopping center, and the skinny pad will have high voltage switchgear,
to allow more flexible star (instead of daisy chain) branching to other, future EV chargers/solar parking canopies/???.

I note further down on this side of Calle Tampico there are a couple a large sized distribution switch boxes.
