(Mod note: moved/split posts related to the Indianapolis SC to their own thread) Anyone have any information on a Indiana Supercharger?
Came here looking for the same info. The Lafayette SuperCharger is marked for "Fall 2013", but I haven't heard a peep about where it may be going.
Any other updates on Lafayette SC? I routinely make a trip from Chicago to Indianapolis, and Lafayette would be very convenient. Too bad that the Mishawaka South Bend SC is out of the way...
Here's info on the Mishawaka/South Bend SC: Indiana's First Supercharger (meetup) Changing the name of this thread to be specifically about the Lafayette/Dyer planned SC...
apparently, Lafayette IN SC is coming in the next few months. does anyone know if a site has been chosen in Lafayette? they also say an Indianapolis SC may be coming after that...
bump. any updates? would really like to visit indy from Chicago again, but this -15 deg temp makes that impossible without a SC on the way
bump. caved in and drove an ICE from Chicago to Indy during a few snow storms. would be really nice if Lafayette came on line. Any hints?
Logansport IN would be better for East<=>West traffic and also 'all roads lead to Logansport' apparently. --
The Cranberry Twp, PA construction crew said they won the bid for the "Indianapolis" supercharger install, for which I assume they meant Lafayette. They will be in Cranberry for another week or two. I asked if they were heading to Indy next, and they said there were some issues with the lease that needed to be worked out before they could start, which likely explains the delay. There were similar issues in Cranberry, where the Residence Inn changed ownership before construction started, and the lease needed to be renegotiated or renewed.
As seen on a couple other threads, the latest Tesla Supercharger Map has some new locations marked on the 'Coming Soon' and '2014' slider settings. This includes Indianapolis as 'Coming Soon', as well as Terre Haute and Lafayette in '2014'. I don't see Effingham, IL on there any more, though. (OT -- we should start a bet on when Tesla will drop or change the '2014' entry from their slider. I'll shoot for Thanksgiving...) Update: called the Indianapolis store to see if they had any additional info on a local Supercharger -- the response was " I wish! We just found out today the same way you did." Heh.
Lafayette or Terre Haute would work out nicely if going from Louisville or Indy to Chicago. I believe the traffic volume would justify it.
Charger moved to indy The supercharger page now shows the indiana SC in Indianapolis instead of lafayette
