If you aren't set on taking I-80 and depending on where you are headed in the Denver area, I-70 can actually be a shorter drive...and is already covered by Superchargers. Thanks for the pictures, this is very helpful. Planning a trip soon from SLC to Denver and this one is crucial for my trip.
Also, it looks like Rawlins will come online before Laramie, so that is the one you are really waiting for (assuming you take the I-80 route). Rawlins to Denver bypassing Cheyenne is 230 miles which would be tough in some Tesla models, but Cheyenne is only a slight diversion and Rawlins to Cheyenne to Denver should be doable in any model this time of year.
I didn't forget! In fact, that's exactly the route I was talking about when I said "Rawlins to Denver bypassing Cheyenne is 230 miles."Don't forget Loveland, you can bypass Cheyenne in Laramie and charge in Loveland before Denver. Saves you about 20 miles.
Rock Springs to Laramie = 208 milesYeah but, 230 is really stretching it with my MX depending on weather, weight and elevation changes. While you can certainly pick up some miles going from Laramie down to Loveland, it still is marginal. I-70 is an alternative, as suggested, but I hate driving I-70, so will probably wait until Laramie is cleared. Thanks to DC Doc we should have another view of that SC this week. Thanks for the info.
Kinda. If it is a short trip with the same wind direction, and you are going the same compass direction for the whole trip.EV Trip Planner can integrate wind vectors for you.
Yeah, you're right about that. Sometimes this is like flying more than driving. Except you have roads. Enjoy your new SCs!Kinda. If it is a short trip with the same wind direction, and you are going the same compass direction for the whole trip.
The EV Trip Optimizer app automatically integrates real weather data for the entire trip.
