I started calling around Limon. The manager at the Arby's in Limon, Arby's in Limon, CO, confirmed that the crew started work in the Arby's parking lot there about a week ago. His expectation was that it would take about 6 weeks total to complete and be done five weeks from now. Limon, CO; Goodland, KS; next stop Hays, KS!
If it's anything like our Arby's they'd really welcome the business. Ours morphed into a Dunkin Donuts. But, yes, that's really good news, especially since it should make your KS and MO scouting trips easier later this year.
Awesome. We'll have part of the route for the trip to TMC connect for the St. Louis group. Thanks for the updates.
Hey! Now that is news indeed. The exit we guessed in Limon. Makes sense. July sunflowers on very flat highways!
Yep... Please don't report them early. Its annoying to have a spot show up when doing route planning -- only to find out its not live yet...
Not a lot of detail yet. Not sure what day these were taken yet either. However I did confirm that Tesla is pushing for a 3 week turn around.
Take pictures whether there has been progress or not. See picture below from Blanding for what to look for. Especially look for the transformer pad, or where it may go, and conduits from there to the Distribution Center and the local power lines or another transformer in the area.
Wow, I'll add my spy drone to my packing list! Seriously, that is the longest day of driving on my Texas to Washington trek (11 hours) but I'll do what I can.
Here ar some pictures from this morning... More to come on Monday during the next drive by. I will have them look for the transformer, etc... on Monday.
Thanks for the photo! This looks like it is in the unpaved lot next to Arby's, to the east? I don't recall seeing any major paving done for Supercharger installation before. This whole area would have to be paved to provide access and parking? Surely they won't leave it unpaved, and there is no available area in the Arby's lot there -- that is the drive-thru.
The charging stations are right next to the Arby's drive-thru. This shot is from inside Arby's. There are six charge stations. - - - Updated - - - There is a utility building on the property that is visible in the Google Map view. I couldn't tell what is in the building, but they are trenching from the building to the Superchargers. Maybe there is a transformer in there. However, there is also a trench laid out to the street so I don't think so. Marks for trench to street Marks for trench to SC. - - - Updated - - - View from the other end of the row.
Unfortunately I heard that this location is now on hold and at least some of the contractors are now working on Nephi, UT instead. Not sure what caused this, maybe the transformer? I know Greenville, SC was recently put on hold as well.
I do know that the town of Limon has no electrical inspectors. They use the State of Colorado DORA for all electrical. Could be part of it.
