Supercharger - Maple Grove, MN

No pictures, but my wife tells me they're tearing up the parking lot in the SE corner near the intersection of Grove Cir N and Maple Grove Pkwy. Sounds like there's some heavy equipment and fencing in place.

This happens to be where One Call said they're installing conduit.

Wow, they started fast; I was just there 6 days ago and there was no activity, no markings, no equipment, etc. in that area. I will hopefully swing by there tomorrow and snap some pictures.

The 12 chargers are going to be along the South side of the parking lot directly opposite the right side front door of Target, backing up to the drainage swamp. This area of the lot can be busy at times, so stopping and backing up will occasionally be a challenge.
Note that the Hy-Vee that was planned for across the street has been permanently canceled.

Pics for today…
Talked to the crew. Must be from out of state; very heavy southern accent. The recent heavy rains are slowing them down a little; even causing the current curbs to wash away a little.
This crew, and the Bloomington crew, are both headed out of state next. So, it appears no more additional MN superchargers for now.

Not a lot of progress in over a week. Looks like the wet conditions are really making things difficult. Looks like 11 pedestals are set, with the pull in spot right on the busy corner of the parking lot (will never work well for trailers). Very wet where the cabinets are supposed to go; same for where the crew said the transformer will go. I think this location is going to take many weeks to be completed (unfortunately).

Drove by here yesterday. No changes. I would guess the crew moved on to something else for now. All the equipment is still here, including the earth moving equipment, cabinets, conduit, remaining pedestals, etc., so they must be coming back soon, once things dry out a little.

Drove by here today. Big crew working! Things have dried up pretty well. Not all of the pedestal bases are in yet, but they are laying conduit. I see ChargePoint equipment here now too, so probably a couple L2’s going in as well.

The site is super active. Ground torn up and tons of machines, equipment and Tesla charge tower boxes sitting behind steel fencing. It's a real life Supercharger installation!

Definitely activity today, all marked off and electricians working. Permit has been approved. My Guess, will be up an running by end of July.

I would guess that this site is 99% dependent on timing/availability of the transformer (similar to Bloomington). They are making great progress on the pedestal bases, conduit, etc. The other 1% factor would be weather if another heavy rain occurs (since this site is right next to a drainage swamp).

I was just at the Maple Grove Target yesterday 6/12/2022. There are Tesla branded battery packs inside the construction site within the parking lot.

I'm sure they saw the V3 supercharger cabinets that have the Tesla Energy markings on their shipping covers. For anyone not a regular follower of supercharger construction, and zennermp is a new TMC member making their first post so this is extremely likely to be the case for them, battery packs are a very good (mistaken) assumption for what they could be.

Yep, I went by there a few days ago; see the pics from May 6 (above): 3 “Tesla Energy” supercharging cabinets. I need to get by there this week and see if they are close to installing those cabinets!
