Supercharger - Mechanicsburg (Upper Allen), PA

I think the nice best place would be at the Sheetz at strinestown exit off 83. Its 15-20 miles north of the slower York charger and is a heavily traveled one and has lots of space

We all have our dream locations, but superchargers aren't free to build or maintain. Locations must fill a gap or be profitable, or both. I think the most plausible future south central PA locations are the Wawa to be built (2024 opening) in Enola, the Sheetz on Route 30 in Chambersburg (or the Sheetz off 81 in Shippensburg but not both), and maybe the Sheetz in Selinsgrove.

Yes- but they (Sheetz) tends to fill gaps in non-traditional ways that Tesla wouldn’t do alone. This Mechanicsburg location is one of them. It isn’t exactly in a convenient spot, especially getting back on to rt 15. Gettysburg isn’t very far away, nor is Carlisle or Harrisburg.

More chargers are needed at turnpike rest stops or close by.

There are new v3 superchargers in breezewood across the street from sheetz now.
Yes, that was misleading.

I'm still currently using distances from the v2 charger.
Where two nearby locations are effectively at the same exit, I only include 1.

Previously I wouldn't put the v2 in my posts so it didn't matter much. But now that I'm putting v2 in my posts, if there are v2 and v3 locations I'll need to ensure that the distances to refer to the v3 location.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Whichever it is, I am pleased with the recent expansions. 3 years ago, if I drove from York to King of Prussia Mall, I had to make sure to get a long enough charge on a level 2 charger in the garage to make it back. Now we have tons of options to choose from. The more, the merrier!

Construction hath begun

Am I correct, that this is a pre-fab one?
Between how fast it went it, and it kinda looks like a big piece they would have lowered into place.
