It appears the two Chargepoint J1772 stalls will be just to the left(west) of the Tesla stalls. They are still in boxes however.

Well this didn’t take long. Stopped by on the way home today. 4 of the 8 stalls are up. Talked briefly to what seemed to be the foreman of the installing crew. Very nice guy. They are from Kentucky. They were the same guys that installed the ND Superchargers. Said they will be completed by Friday before moving to the other Minneapolis location. Obviously the rest will depend on Tesla and View attachment 572036 View attachment 572037Xcel Energy to energize.

I wonder if they plan to eventually move on after that to do Grand Forks ND, and even maybe Pembina ND as the remaining pieces of their plans in this general region?

Super happy to have a Supercharger on the West side of town. But, Tesla really needs to install some steel/concrete barriers around those electrical boxes, since they are very close to the road. This is MN, of course, so it won’t be more than 6 months before a driver loses control on the snowy road and plows into some of the equipment. Look what happened at St. Louis Park just weeks after the Superchargers were installed...

Yep. It’s a cable.
Just chatted with the crew of three. Two local, one from Kentucky. The install work will be all done today. Then it’s up to Tesla.

Must be the same crew I saw today at the NE Minneapolis location.

Stopped at Minnetonka today; no change since Friday, as expected. All of the Supercharger handles are tied to their pedestals, looking like a present ready to be opened; not sure I have seen that before. Lights on the chargers are not on. Note that both the Supercharger and ChangePoint meters are installed and electrically active, so hopefully this site will be active soon.

Stopped by today just to have a look. No change, as expected. But there were several large dump trucks in the parking lot, and it appeared they're gearing up to remove the old asphalt and presumably replace it with new. Hope that doesn't cause any delays.

Damn, this has got to be one of the fastest constructed sites ever no? Meter already installed and powered 15 days after equipment arrived on site? Less than that from when ground was broken. Insane.

Yes, true. Amazing build out time. But, let’s hope it doesn’t take Tesla a month to turn it on!

Charged today at Minnetonka. Looks and works great (the sod is laid down to finish the site). Only got 103 kW to start since I was at 50% SOC and couldn’t precondition since the site is not on the Tesla nav yet. I did get charged by Tesla even though the site is not on the nav yet. (Still only $7 tho.)
Off topic, but this site (actually the Target store) is super sentimental for me. I met my wife at this Target store back in 1985 while we both worked here! Thanks Telsa, for marking this sentimental site with a SuperCharger!!!

Any ideas where the Maple Grove Superchargers are going? Logic would say it is the Super Target off of 94 since most are being colacated with Target. I have lifetime supercharging on my new X (bought in June) so excited to see these west metro locations.

Tesla’s web site shows a future Supercharger around 494 & Bass Lake Rd, but that makes little sense now that Minnetonka has opened just a few miles down the road from Bass Lake Rd. The SuperTarget in Maple Grove just off of Hwy 610 makes sense, and that is also the location of a future Hy-Vee. This would be a great location geographically in between Clearwater and Oakdale for cross country I-94 traffic.
But, what is really needed is a Supercharger in the south metro, ideally in the Burnsville area right along I-35W/I-35E. There is a Target right there, too.

Adding more in the Twin Cities, while leaving BIG gaps ( I29 Sioux City and Grand Forks for instance) just makes me mad.
How can they be so bone headed?!
