Just checking - no juice - pedestals not lit. But trenches to power lines have been repaved and transformer been installed.

Used 1A last night. Plugged in, hear the relays kick in and charging ramps up nicely. However, I hear the relays click after about 40 miles added and then charging stops. The charging would start up but would immediately stop. I ended up moving to 5b (the only front pull in charger) which seemed to work albeit at a slower rate which may have been due to SoC.

Initial charge on 1A

Charging stopped for no apparent reason

Slower charge on 5B

I'm heading up to Pebble Beach for the concourse tomorrow, are there any special Tesla events?

We received an email invite a while ago for a private owners reception "cocktail" event at the Monterey/Seaside service center. Event is FULL. Here's what they posted about it for those attending. Purely social.

Please note the following information prior to the event:
  • Complimentary valet parking will be provided at Tesla Seaside starting at 4:00PM
  • Electric vehicle charging will not be available onsite
  • Model S and Model X will be on display. Model 3 will not be on display
  • Dress code for the event will be casual attire
  • This event is for Tesla owners to network. No presentation will take place

Might be wishful thinking but would think some M3 owners will be down for the Car Week events though.

Certainly distance to adjacent superchargers is interesting, though somewhat useless in the context of an internet post hidden in a specific thread. The route to get there...even less useful. There's too many variables to make the route numbers helpful.
I'm going to have to disagree. There are many routes I did not think of until I saw them on the map or saw them from my car while driving, or saw them posted by someone else. VERY OFTEN Google and other mapping software does not tell us of them, and instead sends us on awful alternatives. Truly awful. Like there's a route I'm thinking of right now (156) that Money had better (198) which Google told me to go a way that had a +1 hour delay EACH TIME with deadly accidents to clear up on Google's way. No Google. (That means No Thank You in English.)

Monterey, CA

Interstates: None
US Numbered Highways: None

Gilroy, CA (CA-1,CA-156,US-101,): 43.0 miles
Seaside, CA (CA-1): 5.0 miles in 11 minutes
Kettleman City, CA (CA-68,US-101,CA-198,CA-33,I-5,CA-41): 148 miles
Atascadero, CA (CA-68,US-101): 125 miles
You left a lot out that a driver starting in Monterey would likely use.

I ran it with EVTripPlanner.Com with Model S 85, 19” tires, 1.2x speed, 75º inside, 55º outside, 350# cargo, 15mph headwind (when 1.2x speed was more than 200RM, I also ran 1x speed in parenthesis):

(Parenthesis around a freeway or highway name means same freeway or highway but name changes)
(Parenthesis around a cardinal direction means you have no other choice)

From Monterey SuperCharger: Grouped by route generally clockwise (North, East, South), then by distance:

Thanks to the heads up on this site we knew we could grab a meal at Calif Pizza Kitchen and some charge while going to the Telsa Social in Seaside. Last car to pull into an available spot when we arrived, moved car when we were done and when we left 4 cars still there. Imagine with this shopping center this will be a popular charging spot. PF Changs is right next door some some good dining options.

(MODERATOR NOTE: this post and the subsequent post were merged into the existing thread about the new Monterey Supercharger)

For those of us who travel to and from Northern California the ride just got easier. Tesla has just opened a new charging locating in Monterey California. Here's the info:
