Elon just announced "liquid-cooled cords" introduced at this supercharger location! Meaning the charge cables are thinner, but can support the high current required to reach peak power output (he didn't specify if the has increased with the new superchargers...)

I charged during the shareholder meeting. Yes, the new thinner cable is nice. Here's a pic.

The liquid cooled cable is about half the diameter of the usual one. Heat exchangers in the base of each pedestal. If one looks closely, you can see little vents along the bottom of the bases. Elon said this will eventually allow them to raise the power level. Though the Mt View installation currently has the same power level as other superchargers.

After the meeting my wife and walked out to look at the new SC cables. They look about the same as my HPWC cable at home. Amazing! A lot easier to handle than the original SC cables we are all used to.

But my Roadster HPC cable is thicker than any of them.

The thinner SC cables are SO COOL! Wow, Tesla needs to re-engineer everything

The new cables also appear to have the new sensor to open the charge port versus the push button.

It's interesting that heat in the cable was the limiting factor. The cable inside the car (behind the charge port) isn't that thick.

Yeah but it's also much shorter. The supercharge cable sometimes has to run a fairly long distance from the AC/DC converter to the stall.
