Tesla cars and Superchargers in Europe use Type 2 (not Type 2 Combo) connector. Cars and Superchargers in US/Canada have a different connector (which one?). That's fine since it would be quite rare occurrence for a US car to go to Europe or vice versa (albeit this is interesting topic in itself - what will work and what will not - charging, 3G, etc., what changes will be mandatory, etc.)

What connector use cars & superchargers in China (and are they the same as in Hong Kong)? What in Japan? What in Australia?

The 2016 supercharger map for Europe already showing locations in Russia - so, the question comes: are Europe cars compatible with China and/or Japan superchargers and vice versa? Sooner or later China and Russia coverage will overlap. Also, plenty of Japan second hand ICE cars are sold in Russia - sooner or later Model S will join those.
