Supercharger - Oak Brook, IL

Just checked the supercharger map and looks like a new supercharger is planned at Oak Brook. I’m guessing it will be at the mall since there’s a tesla store? Anyone live or work in oak brook seeing anything?

My guess is it will be at Target (I also think Rosemont will be at Target).

I’m guessing this based on the article that came out a couple of months ago citing Target’s upcoming partnership with Tesla.

I don’t think there’s a Target in Oak Brook.

They are building a target in oakbrook. I believe at the end of the summer.

I've noticed that too; those two seem to always been packed. Need another one on that I-355/I-290/I-88 corridor. Maybe Lombard or Lisle. Or expand the other sites with some Urban SuCs.

I just saw the pedestals today with orange construction fence around them. The site is in the little strip mall on 16th Street on the west side of Route 83 across from the Oak Brook Mall. I'll get some pictures tomorrow morning.

Okay, the name of the strip mall is The Oaks of Oak Brook. There is a Panera for food, drink, bathroom, and wifi. The lat/long is 41.854716667 / -87.9583277778. I didn't see any transformer. The layout is two rows of four back-to-back.

Maybe the traffic analysis shows more southbound Teslas in this part of DuPage County than northbound, hence an easier right turn in / right turn out after charging.

Yea this can be somewhat true. A lot of highways here (i290, 294, 88) with easy access from the north via Roosevelt road. It's gonna be a hassle for people going EB i88 since they have to pass ~5 busy traffic lights to get there. All other directions it's a relatively quick detour via Roosevelt then back on via Kingery/88.

That mall gets insanely crowded on the weekend too so it's not the greatest spot for a quick in and out charge. Hell it took me 15min once to get from parking spot onto Kingery!
