Any update?
Supercharger expansion globally has basically halted as of July. I wouldn't expect much progress on anything until 2019 (or whenever Tesla starts to make some money).

To clarify this.. There was a giant push at the start of the year, and a TON of new chargers opened from June through Late Aug.. The thing is that only a handful of new chargers have started construction since July 1, and another handful got permits, but compared to the work done in the first half of the year, supercharger construction is essentially halted. I don't expect more then 10-14 more to open globally through the end of the year, compared to almost 1 a day from March - July.

From July 1 to today, there have been 126 new Supercharger openings around the world. 10x greater than predicted above - no apparent slowdown. A Christmas miracle perhaps. ;)

Still no movement seen in Old Lyme but Wtby opened about a week ago.

Going back and looking at this total year (and also the time period that I posted the above comment) this year was totally a rollercoaster.

Q1&2 were nuts, lots of openings and permits/construction. A TON of permits. Then a huge push at the end of Q2, and things dramatically shifted. For almost all of Q3, things opened in droves (all the stuff started in Q1&2), but hardly any actual new stations went into permitting or construction, so for 3 months there was a ton of wrapping projects up, but not much starting up new ones.

Then right at the end of Q3 (around the end of Sept) there's another massive change and suddenly permits and new construction start up again and only a few openings (the handful left from Q2 an the barely any new ones that started in Q3).
Anyway, it seems like given the permit/new construction starting up, the next 3 months are going to have a ton of openings.

Also I totally forgot about the fact a ton of existing stations got additional stalls put in across the year.

Southeast CT is a big problematic hole in the Supercharger network. Considering at this point we shouldn’t bother holding our collective breath for Old Lyme, we may as well start holding our breath for New London?

I can only agree. I've had several instances of barely making it to Manchester, Auburn, and East Greenwich on fumes electrons, and I regularly have to avoid my preferred 395 route. It's not a problem for folks traveling across/through CT, it's a problem for those starting/ending in SE CT. I'm surprised they don't alternately consider a location by the casinos..there might even be less red tape on reservation property.

A hole? You're hard pushed to find anywhere that is more than 100 miles from the nearest supercharger. Sure, more convenient to some. But there's nothing inhibiting travelling through the area.

For those of us from out of town visiting family in SE CT, it’s a big problem. There are few enough L2 chargers as it is and not everyone has access to a dryer outlet. There’s nothing along 95 from basically New Haven through Providence. That’s a big stretch.

Plugshare shows a ton of stuff on the coast in the Waterford/New London/Groton area. You can always drive to a public L2, plug in, and get a ride back to where you're staying.

Not as convenient as a Supercharger, for sure, but that's what I do when visiting family in Southwest Harbor, ME. Not that I won't be thankful when the Bar Harbor Supercharger opens.
