A new Supercharger is coming soon in Palmdale, per a sign that was spotted at the Mojave Supercharger last night. No previous reports have been made of this Supercharger’s existence, as far as I know. Photo by Alex on Twitter @mociaf9 @emupilot @ecarfan
Hope it’s like the ‘coming soon’ sign posted at Quartzsite for new Ehrenberg SC — that was only two weeks.
Nice, wonder where it will be. My GoogleFu is not good enough to find any permits. Will just have to keep my eyes peeled for construction when driving around town.
In another thread someone heard AV Mall from a mobile service guy. The other possibility would be the Walmart/Sams area on 10th. Lots of space and a few restaurants there too.
Just spotted a pic of the same sign on reddit - looks like the hunt is already in progress! https://i.redd.it/g76a5fhcb6241.jpg
About a month or two ago there was construction fencing around a large area in the Palmdale Target Parking lot. My bro in law and I were certain it was gonna be the Palmdale supercharger! Wawa, no dice.
I think that fence was just for the remodel equipment for inside the Target. I'm hoping that the supercharger will be next to the charge point chargers in the same lot.
As far as I can tell, you cant search permits online for Palmdale. I am not hard core enough to go to the building department and search manually. I have been keeping my eyes peeled as I travel that area though.
I didn’t see anything by the mall or Target parking lots. I did see new construction on the South West corner of O-8 and 10th west across from Sonic, Soup Plantation etc. looks like a normal site but there is a rather deep trench running down the middle and looks to be leveled off around it. Nothing concrete but it’s the only construction I see in the area. Wishful thinking...
There has been speculation that land grading at West 10th Street at the 14 Freeway in Palmdale is the location of the new Supercharger. I drove there today and talked to the boss. He's heard the rumor too and denied it. Nothing to do with Tesla. "I crushed that rumor," he said. We both laughed.
I don't get it. Why would Tesla put up that easel now, when we cannot find any sign of construction or permit? Maybe it is underway and we have not been diligent enough.
