Cool I was thinking the same. Yep, like that 40 minute sign at the Paramus service center.
It means that any car is allowed to park there with a 30 minute time limit. For a car charging there is no time limit as at that point it is no longer being used as a parking space and has become a charging stall which doesn't come with a time limit.
Any update on this supercharger?
Well, Rockaway is finally getting prepped so the wait might be over soon!
Anyone know if JCP&L serves both Rockaway and Parsippany?
Not 100% sure but I want to say PSE&G serves Parsippany??
Both are JCP&L.
Stopped here today to get a breakfast sandwich, the fence was gone, the transformer is there... just waiting on the meter still I guess.
Just stopped by and there appeared to be a few guys working by the transformer. .
I stopped by Monday. One gentleman working on transformer box.
I had to make a pit stop at this location. The power was out; Wawa and the gas station were closed. The power company was there doing stuff. I wonder if it's related to the activation of the Superchargers.
I drove past this morning and saw there was finally a meter installed - sounds like they’re doing the cutover that Rockaway had to do too. I guess it’s a race now to see which one goes live first!
Hoping to use this for a few days starting Sunday while staying at a Parsippany hotel. Any chance it will be working by then? I would appreciate any additional updates!
Try it out. It probably will be working.
You might be the first one to use it, please provide US updates haha
Which hotel? If the Supercharger isn’t up yet, the ShopRite in morristown has a destination charger.
I’d offer to let you use my driveway but I don’t have a 240V circuit (or a Tesla.... yet.). You can use my 120V outlet but it’s probably a losing cause - keeping the battery warm outdoors probably consumes more than I can supply right now.
The Columbia Inn in Montville also has a destination charger.
There’s a Chargepoint charger on Church Street in Denville - and some great restaurants there to eat, all in walking distance.
If you need more locations (or restaurant recommendations) let me know!
Thanks all! I’ll use the shop rite as back up. And I’ll update if I get to use the new one!
If you are driving an S or an X and have a CHAdeMO adapter, there are a couple of 50kW CHAdeMO's at Livingston Mall:
PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near You
Looks like they also have J1772’s, so a Model 3 should be able to charge as well.
The Kearny NJ Supercharger is up and running as of this weekend. It's at the WaWa and Walmart is there also. About a 15 minute ride on a Sunday.
