I assume that this bargain is not appropriate for a 2014 Model S, amirite? Don't the cars have to have a certain software package that is not available for these dinosaurs?

Old Model S needs the charge port ECU retrofit, and the only (easy) way to get that is from the service center, and it comes with the adapter.

The standalone adapters are for newer cars that already have CCS charging capability built in.
