My sister just sent me these pictures of the supercharger in Perth that is looking close to completion. This one snuck up on us!

Sorry, I get excited when I hear about any Supercharger in Canada, no matter how far it is from me

This should off-load Kingston and make journeys into Ottawa a bit faster. Adding a 100km to make it to Ottawa will be super fast.
Do many people take the Hwy 7 route when doing Toronto-Ottawa? I always take the 401-416 route which is about 20-30 minutes shorter according to Google Maps, depending on where you get onto Hwy 7. Autopilot works better on the 400 series as well compared to smaller highways.

We took 7/37 to Belleville (one charge) through to Toronto yesterday, and the total time was almost exactly the same as the 416-401 with stops in Kingston and Port Hope (2 charges). I bet it's really dependent on the traffic, i.e. if you get stuck behind a tractor for 30m that won't help.

Once Perth and Peterborough are both up, I'm going to try doing that route one way and 416-401 on the way back to compare. The fact that both of the installs on 7 are V3 may or may not make a difference (in our SR+ it only goes up to 170KW so not a whole lot faster)

I drive between Ottawa and Picton on a fairly regular basis, though not as much with CV19. In the summer I will drive direct, usually taking 7 and 15, though I do go through Perth sometimes. In the winter I will stop in K-town for 15 minutes and use the 416 or 15 depending on the weather. One the way to Ottawa, Perth will take a few minutes off the journey as the battery will be lower and the charger is faster.

I constantly travel bewteen Ottawa and Kingston. I prefer to take the 10 when the weather is nice. Sometimes I take the 15 and on the very odd occasion take the 401/416. Google usually tells me 2h10min-15mins for the 10 and 1h55 for the 401. But generally it takes just over 2hours even if I get stuck behind someone going slow for 10mins. So really only adds about 10mins over the 401 and saves km on the odomoter and the drive is nicer.(enjoy driving roalling country roads)The down side is can't use auto pilot(have to go 90km/h) until I hit Carleton Place(417 hwy)

While I haven’t done the trip in my Tesla yet, I always go Hwy 7. 1000x more relaxing than 410/416, more scenic and overall more enjoyable. Takes a few minutes longer, but totally worth it.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I find that Autopilot reduces stress a lot and it works way better on divided highways than on two lane highways, and I believe you are restricted to the speed limit on non-divided highways/roads, at least in a Model S. Plus the most stressful thing for me is getting stuck behind a slow driver on a two lane highway - do you pass at the next opportunity or is it too risky?
