Supercharger - Phoenix, AZ - East Camelback Road

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix AZ confirmed that they are getting superchargers just east of the garage structure. SRP and other marking are on the ground consistent with previous supercharger construction sites.

To my understanding they are getting 20 superchargers.

They MAY be the urban style, I'm not sure.

BFP management company also manages Kierland Commons Lifestyle Center Phoenix AZ which has the urban style of superchargers. 15205 N Kierland Blvd Scottsdale AZ 85254 {mailing address}.

Anyone in the area please be on the lookout for all the usual signs of construction.

A few fresh ground markings. Here are a few photos from this morning.

Those small photos {post 2} were copied from the Aqua Fria Freeway Supercharger thread if you want to view them full size.... look there!

With all the ground marking here at Biltmore Fashion Park we’ll have to wait to see EXACTLY where these chargers will go!

Awesome news! Interesting that they're locating a lot of these by where people 'shop', even though a lot of people just don't shop at traditional stores any longer... and most malls aren't expected to be around in another few years. This Biltmore space is interesting, as it is consistent with rumored plans to build larger mid-rise buildings (mixed commercial/multifamily) like Esplanade along Camelback Road, then larger multifamily buildings along 24th Street, then tear down most of the existing mall (a few parcels in there are actually owned by retailers, like Saks, not leased) and rebuild something along the lines of Santana Row in San Jose, and expand the parking garage further east. That's the long range plan - if the economy keeps chugging along... but methinks (just opinion) we're going to see a pretty big correction and recession by September 2019, which can stop a lot of development from occurring.

Look what I found at the Biltmore Fashion Square today! And, some trenching and footing/supports are underway. Good news.

I am pretty new here. Can someone pass this on to supercharge.info (or let me know how to). Thx

They have all the inverter cabinets installed and the trenching company was there today. Looks like they are tapping into the electrical lines near the other DC chargers.

They are also installing a solar canopy but for some reason they are using Canadian solar panels and I saw some Huawai boxes in there too.

The photos appear to show a solar canopy will cover these pedestals. If so, the shade will be greatly appreciated during the warm seasonal months. We need to be looking for the possibility of a bi-directional battery pack {or two} being located at this site. Slowly Tesla is truly allowing us to charge our cars with energy from the sun!

It looks like as-is the canopy will cover maybe 10 spots? I wonder if that's just the first of many? Ideally, they could solar shade most of that entire lot back there which is relatively huge, probably over 100 spots?. It would be a welcome addition to ALL users, not just Tesla people as a shaded spot is gold in the AZ summer. I'm guessing to actually offset 100% of the electric for a 20 stall SC you would need to cover quite a large area. But does the added construction/solar panel cost pencil for Tesla?
