We are getting really close folks. Subcontractor was striping the parking lot when I arrived this evening. Looks like the transformer and meter are both in based on the quick photos I was able to take (back right in second photo). Take note of the new power lines and poles also.
However, curiously the Tesla casings are still off of two of the superchargers. I’ll go back tomorrow and or Saturday to see if I can plug in and charge or if I can get closer to the transformer/meter.
Area is still roped off. Everything looks done other than two of the superchargers are black bagged for some reason. There isn’t a lot of excess parking at this location, so the back 4 superchargers are 30 minute general parking only while the front 4 are Tesla charging only (seems backwards to me btw). There could be a lot of ICEing at this location, but I really haven’t seen many cars parked while I’ve been there. It’s kind of a “get your gas and leave” type of gas station unlike Sheetz or WaWa.
In other news the DC fast charging site across the interstate has some movement as they were installing a transformer there this morning. The chargers were still in the plywood boxes though.
I’m expecting these “final steps” could take a few weeks (see Chapel Hill)...2 chargers still bagged, meter while installed is not on, and the area is roped off with caution tape.
Some more final steps done towards opening but not there yet.
Black bags are off of the two chargers, original parking lot paving was sealed, flags were removed from the power lines, and the meter is now on but it is blinking a bunch of different things (see pics). Hopefully this one will be online soon for travelers as the Greenville supercharger has been full the last few days according to my nav.
Stopped in here for the first time on Sunday (after Thanksgiving). It was pretty busy, but no wait, and never saw a wait while we were here. It's a welcomed stop instead of having to go to the old Greenville, SC stop that is gen 1 and always packed (and was a wait when we went by it). There is a little older store here for some snacks/drink, which helps. Was a fast charger and then on to home...glad to have this one as an option for when we can't quite make it to Fair Play while headed back to ATL.
