Supercharger - Portage, MI

I called someone from Meijer corporate and they said they had no idea about these super charger plans at this location... But I could be in contact with the wrong person.

Maybe “permit” wasn’t the best word to use back then. It seems they’re still in negotiations with Tesla. I should be informed when the project goes though

According to the new map on Tesla's website, we're getting that new Portage supercharger in the 3rd quarter of 2021.

Looks like it is the Meijer on Shaver road that is at about 4 miles from I94 exit ramp.
It is a shame it is not the Meijer on South Westnedge that is right there next to the exit ramp.

Oh well, I will be happy to have a (hopefully V3) supercharger in town,

That spot is just a point to Portage, not the actual location. They usually do this until a location is finalized.

Updated on Tesla Map, now says Target open Q2 2021. Was Q3 Only gives them 2 months.

I’ve obtained info from a reliable source saying Tesla has applied for a permit for a V3 Supercharger at the Meijer store in Portage, Michigan. Construction scheduled to begin this Spring. Will add on Supercharge Info.

According to the permit link posted by mwfriederichs, it is the Meijer's on Westnedge just off I-94. Much better location than 4 miles south.

Went to visit my mom for mother's day and came back on I-94 past Portage. Detoured to the Meijer and made a lap around the parking lot. There is no apparent groundbreaking, construction area, nor preparation (fencing) to be seen. Not sure this site deserves a cone just yet, but hopefully soon!!!

Looks like the underground electrical inspection was completed yesterday 5/13/21.

Stopped by Meijers today and construction is well underway! It’s located in the parking lot north of the building not at the front of the parking lot like other locations. All conduit is installed for 8 stations and should be back filled early next week. Have photos but don’t know how to epload them
