Supercharger - Raymondville, TX

There is a Supercharger shown on the 2016 map between Corpus Christi and Brownsville. It looks to me like it will be in Raymondville, TX, since Raymondville appears to be about the only town in that area with the appropriate facilities. I've driven through the area in the past (in an ICEV).

Calallen, Corpus Christi, to Raymondville is about 100 miles, From Raymondville to South Padre Island or SpaceX is a about another 70 miles.

Until this one is built, many of us will not be venturing that far south. Hopefully, it will be done by the time SpaceX is starting to launch rockets from there. I'd love to see one of the Mars BFRs go up.

Incidentally, even though the distance between South Padre Island (a popular tourist area) and SpaceX is only about 8 miles as the crow flies (see image), it is almost an 85 mile round trip for those who may wish to visit the SpaceX facility from there.

I posted under the sticky thread that I saw Supercharger units standing in a row at the Holiday Inn Express in Kingsville last PM. It was raining and I did not stop to see how far along the construction is but the Superchargers are up and standing already. I did not see any activity in Raymondville and suspect next location will be further south maybe Harlingen or San Benito. James

The NEVI website has a dashboard that shows their funded sites. The applicant for Raymondville is Tesla. Going to the NEVI Dashboard, the dot centerpoint is at the McDonald's located at 1105 TX-186, Raymondville, TX 78580. While this in itself is not definite proof that it will be at the McDonald's (could be anywhere in the blue circle), there have been other NEVI locations that have had permits filed where the centerpoint for those location match the address on the permit. Those location are Burleson, Gainesville, and Wichita Falls.
