that Sheetz would’ve been more convenient for me. I live in NC now but my parents are in Sinking Spring. This or the new Ephrata one are close enough, but Shillington would’ve been sweet. Makes sense that theyre putting it along 422, there was nothing along it between Harrisburg and KoP.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put one there too. You have to think Reading is a metro/city and it would be surprising if there was only Supercharger in the area.

I appreciate any time a Super Charger is constructed. But for this area, a better location would have been at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing. The Berkshire Mall has ample parking, is convenient from Rte 222 and 422, and it has its own electrical substation so there is plenty of power for EV charging, Tesla and non-Tesla alike.

Tesla is moving away from mall, outlet mall and hotel locations in favor of gas stations and rest stops.

Tesla is moving away from mall, outlet mall and hotel locations in favor of gas stations and rest stops.

Mainly they've realized that hotels are problematic.

There are still new locations going in at malls. But their agreements with gas station chains and grocery store chains means that they are less dependent on malls.
(Could be time for me to try and update stats.)

Tesla has also always been in favor of locations at travel plazas. Lots of locations early in on I-95 were at plazas.
But they depend on getting agreement with the relevant authorities. They've moved quickly after getting agreements with authorities in NJ, PA and IN.

Grocery stores are other good locations. Not 24 hour, but usually 12 or more hours, and good for a mix of travelers and locals with no home charging.

Charging is a lot faster now than long ago too.

Back in my day, you could plug in a dead 2013S and sit down to a meal at Long Horn, and be done eating just about as the car was done. So it made a lot of sense to put them places you'd spend an hour anyway.

Now you barely have time to take a leak and down a burger. #Progress lol.
Yeah I can’t even get through an episode of Always Sunny anymore.
