Yeah, it’s definitely the number of L3 ports they got wrong. 10 cabinets for 20 stations would mean it’s V2. With almost all new regular Superchargers being V3, this is probably an urban one, unless the planning date was earlier than 2019. Also, this station doesnt look like it has anything less than 10 stalls.
I'm puzzled as to why you would skip it just because it is a 72kW charger. I'm wondering if you realize that even at a much larger SC you'll "average" about that amount or less for "most" of a full charge. Your experience might be different. For me, I notice getting high rates for a relatively short time at most SCs before it starts dropping to 80 ish or less. No it is not the temperatures, etc. Been my experience on both Teslas going across the country. With all the new Teslas on the road, I almost always have to share a sport with a version 2 charger that claims getting up to 150kW, but in reality I get half that amount when someone is charging next to me. So for me, not really that much difference that I don't bypass urban chargers.
It would be sort of pointless up here since electricity is flat rate all day long at 9 cents kWh for everyone.
Your points are well taken. Right now, it’s easy to get from Truckee to Lovelock or vice versa, so I don’t really need Reno. I rarely share a circuit at either Truckee or Lovelock, so it’s easy to get 100+ kW. But if one of them were impacted, you bet I’d take 72 in Reno!
I find that urban chargers seem to work great for the very reasons you state. With the games, YouTube, Netflix, etc., the car is usually ready before I am anyway. Not sharing and knowing what to expect if there's an open spot is a big plus when driving in highly populated Tesla locations. I'm hoping they put several more free destination L2 Tesla chargers in along with these. I don't mind picking up a few free electrons when eating or catching a show in Eldorado. My biggest concern at this location will be ICEing unless they plan to strictly enforce parking restrictions. During large events in town, it's not uncommon for that garage and areas around it to quickly fill up.
Must have just missed you there. We were eating at the buffet that they provide free for veterans on Veterans Day and we plugged in the Tesla destination charger while eating. Added 47 miles and full stomach all for free. That is the same view we had walking back to our car.

Interesting! In addition to the eight with 1A-1D and 2A-2D, there are four other bases to the left of 1A, and they are smaller rectangles than the others, and appear to have smaller conduit. I would wildly guess they may be Destination Charging stations.
Oh good point! Other than those 4 with "more-square" bases, the rest seem to be the same size, so potentially 16 v3 Superchargers? The 2 corner "side" chargers are definitely positioned for Tesla's driver-side charging ports, and as you noticed, the larger conduits are also present on the east stalls too.
