Supercharger at the Atlantis completely full tonight and one spot is ICEd. This guy should be towed.

Not that this comment has anything to do with the supercharger at this location, but for the people that might want to use the destination chargers across the street, they are in bad shape.
I was at the Altantis the other day at the DESTINATION chargers. One is completely broken at the charging connector and the other one has exposed wiring. A user can plug it in the partially broken connector and charge but the concern is that the exposed wiring might be a hazard. Looks like someone ran over them, and since it is both at the same time, it might have been done on purpose.

And to give an update, both of the destination chargers across the street are completely broken. Sort of looks like they were purposely run over.

Well, I guess they finally fixed the 2 destination chargers across the street in the other parking lot. I didn't actually drive up close to look, but when we drove by there yesterday, two Teslas were parked there and plugged in. Nice to have those for people that stay over night and don't need a fast charge, and of course they are free.
 
No posts about this supercharger in a long time. I am over there every Monday for a reason other than supercharging, yet have noticed this location is very active with few if any open spots where in the past it has had many open spots. It seems most of the cars are model 3, so the expansion of more cars certainly has an effect. For people passing through, they should use the 4th street location.

Yes, the original Reno location is a small number of stations at a casino which is out of the way if you're "just passing through".
The 4th street location has many more stations and is close to the freeway.

yes, agree assuming people are travelling East to West on 80 which is the interstate you are referring. Perhaps I should be clearer to say for people travelling up and down 580 (395). It's really convenient for those people.

Oh and to add, the 4th street location is a 250 kW location rather than the older Atlantis 150.

yup, got to agree with that statement. Nothing there. The people I talk to at the SC that stop at the Atlantis location are either local, or coming to stay at the Atlantis, BUT a fair number of them are on 395 headed to or from Las Vegas or San Diego.

Oh and I guess I should add that we are working on putting in two new locations in the Reno/Sparks area that will make all this a mute point in the near future.
 
I recently noticed the SC at the Atlantis is now charging a peak rate during certain hours. That and being crowded plus being only a 150kw charger would cause me to always choose the 250kw location anyway.
Thanks for that info. I didn't know about the peak charging since I don't pay for charging. I just told my neighbor (sitting here in the living room). He charges there and was not aware of the peak rate. For me, there is an advantage to the slower charge rate but only for an unusual reason.... I don't want it to charge so fast that I need to leave the buffet early to move it. :D But that's just me. It's terrible for others.

As a sarcastic side note, I'm surprised I haven't been killed yet due to the wild lane changes and massive construction going on in the area of 395. Sure will be nice when it is finished though.

Sure would be nice if Tesla would move east a few miles and stick a couple chargers in at Fallon. Not everybody wants to stop at Re-NO. Though with 400 miles of range, I really don't need chargers in Fallon. I charge in Truckee both ways.
Would you like it if people called your town NO-pa. Gonna have to hide your future comments for that slander. Side note, Fallon is already in the queue for future chargers :D
