Hello, I have been informed that a new supercharger location will begin construction soon. Can someone local please check this address? 4401 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA @BlueShift for visibility.
Would be an odd location. Hyatt by the airport. Can't imagine there is much demand on that route of 64 so close to the Glen Allen location
Even if true, more superchargers is never a bad thing. Not sure that'd be more or less convenient on my way through Richmond to Williamsburg from up north. I really like the Glen Allen location, the only problem being it can get crowded with locals shopping.
More information. Looks like it will be a bigger one. 20-22 stalls, attached to the mall area near JC Penny, just off the access road to the mall.
That's 20 stalls. 22 would have been a really strange amount that they have never done before. 20s are becoming more common and of course there are two 40s under construction in CA.
That’s a very random place for a 20 stall SC, I would have thought it would be better to expand the glen Allen sc
It's not all that random. I live 10 minutes from this location and I can't want for it to be built. It's right off I64 and near the intersection with I95. We do most of our shopping here so it will be awesome to charge while we shop. I can keep a close eye on it's construction status when it gets going and post updates.
Ahhh, this is the one supercharger location I didn't scout on my trip from DC to Durham NC this week. From the map, it looks like a really wide variety of places to eat / shop while charging.
I think there should be survey lines/paint markings down if you can swing by to confirm? Should be close to the access road near JC Penny's/Lowes
Based on the site plan graphic from Ross, I was able to find the spot in the parking lot. Here are a few pictures. It looks like some things have already been marked. There are tons of stores and restaurants a short walk away.
I had someone local call me today to say they saw digging equipment onsite and working. Can anyone here confirm?
It is very much under construction! Pictures attached. It looks like the supercharger shipments from Tesla are here already.
They sure aren’t wasting any time getting these Supercharger projects going. @BlueShift this location is now under construction.
