It looks like the forthcoming Supercharger installation in Salamanca, NY is well underway. There are 8 charging stalls, with signs posted, and it looks like the back end hardware is at least in place. This is a great location to fill a hole in the NY-Southern Tier area, on Route 86 (old route 17) roughly halfway between the Erie, PA, Superchargers and the Painted Post, NY Superchargers - which themselves are still only 50% complete. Here's the exact location and GPS coordinates: Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino 777 Seneca Allegany Blvd. Salamanca, NY 14779 1-877-8-SENECA website: Allegany Casino Hotel | Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino GPS: 42.153067, -78.747726 This Supercharger location shows an "opening late 2018" date on Tesla's map, but it not yet registered on the awesome supercharge.info site. (I don't know how to add it there, but if anyone else does, go for it!) Here's one terrible photo that I snapped as we barrelled by at speed, but I might be able to get some better photos tomorrow, when I'll be passing it again.
It also fills a decent hole North-to-South along US-219 between Buffalo, NY and I-80 @ Falls Creek, PA (~150 mi.). Not that big a deal in summer, but in winter I bet that will be very nice to have for those with more limited range. @BlueShift
really good. We go to Chautauqua Institute in summer - and it was always difficult to fight for the one slow public charger they have on site. thanks much for fresh data
I was looking for the old thread and found this one from today. Equipment is on site but not yet connected.
Woo, I-86E build-out! I-86: From: Erie, PA (I-90) 78.2 miles To: Erwin, NY (Painted Post) 109 miles To: Binghamton, NY 189 miles
Any progress on this site? Cabinets in? Meter attached? Thanks to any locals to help keep me apprised... Erie to Erwin in the winter in my classic Model S is a stretch, and I'd like to take the Southern Tier to the Hudson valley.
I was at the Casino last week and the pedestals were lit up (looking from inside) so I assume that means they're powered on. I didn't think to check here first as I didn't have my Tesla and I assumed this charger was already online. Looks like it's not the case. I'll be heading back there in the next month to watch some of the Snowmobile Nationals and will update then.
Just checked the map in the car and it's not there yet (although that's not necessarily conclusive, as sometimes it takes a couple of days).
Anyone local to this? If not driving a Tesla, take a peek at the meter. If we're operational, it can't be registering 0000000. Thanks much.
I called the casino and they said it's not online yet. The delay is apparently because of the recent cold snowy weather. I believe they still need to pave the area, which is hard to do when it's 11 below zero like tonight.
I'm very excited about this. Coming down from Toronto, charging in/around Olean (family from Bolivar) is a bit of a challenge. Being able to charge in Salamanca might make life much, much easier if I decide not to install a 240v outlet at my mom's.
