Electify America is putting in DCFC along highways, mostly CCS but usually with one CHAdeMO connection. They are not installing Tesla superchargers. In fact the settlement of the diesel fraud that funds it prohibits using proprietary charging connectors.Purdue Mark: the Walmart rep told me Tesla, but I can find nothing in Electrify America (a VW subsidiary) that mentions Tesla superchargers. In the absence of any info from Tesla, I have no idea what to think. I have no interest in charging at a J1772. If that's all they offer we're better off finding a free HPWC.
Obviously a Supercharger is best but I'll take DCFC over the current options. Now Tesla just needs to enable the Chademo and/or CCS adapter to work with my Model 3.TexasEV: I really hope you are right. I don't think we gain anything out of Electrify America's efforts. I'll see if Walmart can clear it up for us - maybe even a drawing or a list.
Charlie, is this a planned Electrify America station or Tesla Supercharger? I understand that Tesla’s can use both, but I’d really prefer after all this time not to have to spend $600 on an adapter if I can avoid it. Thanks again for all of your efforts in central and west Texas.
Not yet. Feedback is they will enable it with a future firmware update.I may be wrong, but “fast” Chademo right now is only 62kW or so isn’t it?
Is Model 3 still not compatible with Chademo?
There's been some changes to the permit listing. Hope springs eternal.
What is the address? The permit fees were paid yesterday!! Progress? Still need absolute proof that this is a Tesla site.
