On the Tesla map shows a supercharger in San Bernardino due to be open the end of 2017. I haven't see any construction or permit. Anybody has any information?
The best source of information continues to be: supercharge.info Plenty of data and links to study for every existing and future Supercharger when the specifics are known. Here is the thread for a new one in Riverside. Supercharger - Riverside (Under construction 11-05-2017, new “Urban” type)
Furthermore, Tesla sets lofty goals for opening new Superchargers. This has been debated here for four years. We do not know how Tesla determines the targeted opening dates for Superchargers. We do know that there are factors beyond Tesla's control: property negotiations and zoning and permit issues come to mind. Then there are other factors like construction crew availability or funding that may or may not determine when locations are commenced.
I found where it is. It is off the 215 at Inland Center drive in front of the parking structure between Macy’s and JC Penny’s. It looked almost completed. It is right next to an EVGo charger.
I know, it is like we are losing our touch on this forum! I need to start driving around Palmdale and make sure they aren’t almost done with that one too!
Thanks. Are you sure is tesla building that? Does not show any permit nor construction there on the supercharger.info website.
Supercharge.info gets a lot (most)? of its data from threads like these. I have pinged Blushift, so the site should be getting an update soon.
Definitely an "urban" supercharger, but that empty pallet is covering a hole where the transformer will go. So no transformer yet, which means it could be a long time before it is completed.
This in itself is never a deciding factor as to "is it a Tesla site or not?". Sites only appear there after they have been identified by someone else. On the odd occasion, you will see someone identify a site *before* supercharge.info has a chance to be updated. As others have said, all the info on supercharge.info comes from the public (most of it from these forums).
They're filling in the IE corridor quite nicely. Now we need something in the Pomona/West Covina/El Monte segment. And ideally something in Corona.
Between Macy's and JC Penny's.... I wouldn't invest in a parking lot between those two... At least in a few years, the lot will be vacant except for the Teslas
Tesla always puts their chargers out of the way where ICE vehicles don't want to park. So, between Macy's and JC Penny was a wise decision! Glad to see one coming to the SB area.
