This is why another SC is needed so close to the Outlet SC. 2 chargers down. The rest all full and one waiting 9/28/2020 at 1:50pm. #FirstWorldProblems
That I5 corridor in San Clemente is the only direct connection between the two largest cities in California. It is no wonder there is a LOT of traffic and demand.
Decided to take my morning coffee here. Pro tip, getting to this vantage point per my other photos is much easier on my mountain bike than hiking.
That would be me charging in the picture above. You will have to take my word for it that I got a green charging light. No picture. I was too busy hiking and sipping on my coffee.
Charged there briefly last night. It appears to be not working well yet. The in car navigator listed it as 120 kW. My charging session was in the 30 kW range. When I was there two people approached me to see if I was getting any charge, as they were unable to get their stations to work. Teething problems on the first day. I expect better soon.
I charged my X LR+ last night at a max of 196 kW on circuit #3. It stayed steady at 190-196 from 10-20% then dropped quickly to 90 kW, which isn’t normal.
Typical new SC baby steps. I believe Tesla starts these out gently to test them - most often they charge for free.
I stopped here last night (Friday the 2nd) and 3 connections would not begin charging. I called Tesla support and they said that NONE of them were working. I went to the "western" San Clemente and all was well. (IT WAS BUSY!)
Charged here yesterday no issue ..what I like is it’s a little bit off the freeway so hopefully most folks go San Clemente outlet and leave these wide open
I'm hoping that they temporarily shut down the chargers at the outlets and upgrade them all to V3. Probably wishful thinking, but if you could do that, you would cut the charge time for most vehicles there, which would improve throughput overall.
Just an FYi since these opened the nav reports these as 120 however there are V3 additionally the Nav doesn’t repair any out of order stalls ..however since opening six stalls have been out ..I normally toss the cable over the charger to signify theses are out of order but someone keeps putting them back in LOL ...today was the first time I actually saw a line here ...and unfortunately the outlets were also full
These chargers are now reporting as 250 on my nav screen. Having both Vista Hermosa and the outlets with lines at the same time shows how much demand there is for charging in that location. Incredible.
I was there today as several technicians were picking up cones from blocked off stalls and leaving. They might all be ok now
