Like most things that someone thinks is "government" or "city" related, SDG&E gets a really bad rap. Based on personal experience doing both residential and commercial development and having SDG&E on our critical path many times, they've actually been really good.
If the subcontractor indeed failed inspection related to code non-compliance (or whatever), the delays are more on them than SDG&E. It's a bummer that SDG&E engineers, transformers, and meters aren't just sitting on the sidelines waiting for our Supercharger to pass all inspections and come racing in at a drop of a hat to put the bow on top. But that's the reality.
