CARMEL VALLEY: Building and electrical permit to install (16) Tesla Supercharger electric vehicle charging stations, (4) Tesla Supercharger cabinets, (1) meter/switchgear, (1) utility transformer, and (1) utility fuse cabinet at an existing parking lot of a commercial building. Scope to include installation of associated concrete equipment pads, curbs, ADA features, and adjust striping.

3810 Valley Centre Dr, San Diego, CA 92130

This appears to be at the Carmel Valley Pavillions (used to be Vons)
The lot is already full typically, so will be interesting to see how this works out - probably will be located back in the corner that used to be the old souplantation parking area.
Really good location being right off the freeway where the 56, 805, and 5 meet with good access to coffee, food, as well as Karate for the kiddos

Fantastic.

I've never had to wait at the One Paseo but it was inching up there. This should squash that for the foreseeable future. Model 3/Y peeps will love the super high speeds on it also.

Before Covid, often the only parking spots left were the SC spots at One Paseo, the parking structure was that busy. Won’t be too long before we get back to that, so nice to see relief on the horizon.

Moderator note: In an attempt to keep things on-topic, moved a handful of posts about the "One Paseo" (Del Mar Heights Rd?) Supercharger to this thread:

It’s been one year since the original post - this location is superior than the Torrey Hills location for out-of-town folks, so hope it’s gets built here. (BTW, has anyone noticed that literally 1/4 of cars on local streets in Carmel Valley are Teslas)

Hey gaswla, your BTW is a bit off-topic but that's an astute observation. A journalist from the NY Times named Ivan Penn did an article of EV prevalence in the 92130. It's behind a pay wall but here's an excerpt...

"Consider Carmel Valley, Mr. Teglia’s well-to-do neighborhood in San Diego. Vehicle registration data compiled by Drive Dominion, a research firm, found that there are more Teslas registered in the 92130 ZIP code, which includes most of the neighborhood, than in all but two others in California, in Palo Alto and Orange County."

I often count the number of Teslas per traffic light cycle at the intersection of Del Mar Heights and El Camino Real and it can be upwards of 6 or more. That's pretty impressive.

Getting it back on topic... we could really use these new chargers in the Pavilions parking lot.

Must be a boo-boo 😂
