Well that's the Tesla title block on the drawings. No obvious, unique Tesla equipment in view yet (I guess). One would expect urban chargers here. The number of single family homes in all of Mission Valley, from SDSU to I-5, can probably be counted on one hand, with fingers left over (I'm thinking the old Ferrari diary farmhouse, if it is even still there).

Urban chargers are still "paired", in that two pods are served by each rectifier cabinet. They are just programmed to provide flat 72 kW, that is modulated only by your own battery's state-of-charge. Neighboring vehicles have no effect on you.

Yes, this area is notorious for flooding during the rare occasion we actually see substantial rain. This is usually accompanied by the obligatory report of at least one driver attempting to cross closed roadways that are obviously flooded.

+1 to the comment about Mission vs. Fashion Valley place names, especially with the other mall looking rather "ghetto" these days by comparison. Heck, I think Mission Valley mall even has a tattoo parlor! You'll never find that kind of establishment at the upscale Fashion Valley Mall.

To avoid confusion, I also think this site should be renamed "Fashion Valley". The regional area in called Mission Valley and the two largest malls in the area are called "Fashion Valley" and "Mission Valley", located only 1 mile apart. This SC is located in Fashion Valley Mall. Thanks!

This SpC may be located in the Fashion Valley mall, but the neighborhood that encompasses the Fashion Valley and Mission Valley malls is called Mission Valley. Since SpC have generally be identified by the city or neighborhood, Mission Valley is technically correct (although possibly a bit confusing).

It's possible (even likely) that ecarfan edited my thread title after I posted it. I don't remember exactly which thread title I used, but I do remember copying the name from supercharge.info. The confusing part is supercharge.info now has a different name than the one in this thread title. Maybe they changed the name over there?

supercharge.info shows San Diego - Fashion Valley.

If Tesla shows it as "Mission Valley" then the locals will know it is in Fashion Valley Mall. Out of town visitors will not know the difference and follow the GPS to Fashion Valley Mall.

This is the same as the San Diego Supercharger at Qualcomm. It is listed as San Diego Supercharger, yet is located withing the Qualcomm campus in a Qualcomm parking lot.

On the Tesla website “Find Us” page map it is shown with the name I changed the thread title to.

Once this location is operational and we see it in the car nav, if the name turns out to be different I will change the thread title.

That is the way I try to manage the names of all the threads in this forum that are about a specific Supercharger location.

Fair enough; it's the "Mission Valley" Supercharger, located at the Fashion Valley mall. The former is a valid geographical location, whereas the latter is not, although there is a road adjacent called Fashion Valley Rd, as well as condos on the hill called Fashion Heights. I think the apartments across Friars Road even have the word "Fashion" in the name, but escapes me right now.

Just wanted to stop by and see what it looked like for myself. Not sure how far along this is but I’m sure someone else can gauge it. :)

Got a quick glance this morning while traveling south on the 163. The green construction fence is gone and the pedestals are on display with Tesla branding fully visible (no longer covered w/plastic). Might not be too much longer before this spot is open.
