They certainly are shared. Two 72 kW urban Supercharger pedestals are powered by one 145 kW Supercharger cabinet. There is no dynamic load sharing - they just split the power evenly between them.

I suspect the Superchargers will be co-located next to or close to the NRG DCFC located in the parking garage on the South-East corner of the mall. It is a good location and is usually one of the last parking lots to get full. Makes it nice for visitors to San Diego to use.

Fashion Valley is a great location for a SC. Central to everything. Only thing that's lacking would shopping and bathrooms after the mall is closed. I can't wait for this to open.
As for specifics where it will be located within the mall, I hope its somewhere far away from the mall. The area gets pretty congested and it can be a nightmare. BUT i welcome any SC here!!

I just happened to drive through there yesterday, I am thinking it is going to be in the southeast corner of the mall near Bloomingdales off of Avenue de las Tiendas just before you turn on Riverwalk. There is a small parking lot just behind parking structure E, it looks like they are doing some construction in the parking lot, saw an excavator and green wrapping around some fencing.

Looks like a great guess on location, would be perfect. Green fence is likely unrelated to super chargers since it's been up since at least March when this street view was captured - Google Maps
It does seem like Tesla has a propensity lately to set these up in parking structures though. Maybe it's less expensive to run conduit along the outside walls than it is to excavate?
Electrical permit issued on 2018-10-22 and is now pending payment on their invoice. If it hasn't actually started yet, I would bet this location moves into construction very soon. If anyone can swing by some time this coming week to see if they've broken ground that would be excellent.

Do we ACTUALLY know the exact location, or just somewhere in the Fashion Valley Mall? I know speculation was the South-East corner. Is that where we should look?
We likely won’t know the exact location in the mall parking lot until someone spots signs of construction.
And now the online permit tracker for Tesla's project is showing that on 2018-11-08 they've had and passed their undergrounds inspection. So, pretty darn likely that's the spot.
