I warn everybody that it is the Tesla owner & driver's responsibility to set max charge level before handing off car to valet operator. It is valet's responsibility to not change that setting. That only limits the maximum charge; nothing I said has anything to do with the minimum charge; that is between you and the valet.
Yes, I would believe so. According to in-car navigation, valet hours are 11am to 10pm everyday. Outside of those hours, who will be around to stop you from using them?
Those are the valet Destination Chargers? If that's the kind of chargers you are looking for, there is a wall full of them upstairs after the Superchargers. I met a guy using an $800 adapter on them to charge his Roadster for free. Did anyone go to the ribbon cutting yesterday? It was supposed to be at 3pm, but I was rather wrapped up in discovering that my same car, if I ordered it again, now one year later, would have been $750 cheaper!!! DMAMMIT -Randy not really upset, would have paid twice that for the year I just had.
This location is *very* convenient. The 4th floor chargers are easy to access (especially if you use the ramp from Winchester), plenty of room to maneuver, and I like that there are many destination chargers in addition to the superchargers. Perfect to top up the battery without blocking a supercharger if you are there for a few hours (restaurant, bar etc.). Most of the DCs and several SCs were available when I arrived (that was on a busy Friday evening).
I love how there are tons of destination chargers as well here for those without free SC charging like me
I reported it upthread, but anyone can valet for $8. $24 for overnight valet parking if staying at the hotel.
I was just at Santana Row tonight. Arrived at 6pm and all Destination chargers were full but there were 3 or 4 SC stalls available. When I left at 10pm there was one Destination charger available and 6+ SC stalls available, but I saw at least one Model X parked in an SC stall and not plugged in.
Due to a lack of an enforcement mechanism, people tend to leave their car plugged into those destination chargers all day. I routinely see 1/2 of the cars plugged in, but the charger showing idle (i.e. steady green light).
Personally, I don't have a problem with people overstaying the Destination chargers. However, I do have a problem with people overstaying the SC stalls or parking there and not plugging in.
Anyone know anything about power being off for the 4th floor garage? I saw the nav map showed site under maintenance yesterday morning, then showing back to normal, yet I think the power has been off for 2 days solid now. Supercharges and destination stations powered off...
I'm at the garage now and trying to use the destination charger. No luck. I've tried four of them. The car says ready to charge but it's not getting any power from the charger.
The map showed "Temporary Closure" this morning, but now shows normal again... Seems like the Supercharger map doesn't match reality too well and this location is still having problems.
This morning it appeared that some of the superchargers were up but none of the dests were. Just now at lunch everything is down again. There were some folks milling about in Tesla high-viz vests in the morning.
Just back from there, still, no superchargers.... all destination chargers are taken... tesla app shows location is under maintenance, maybe 250kw upgrade ?
I personally leave my car there for 5-6 hours while it is charging, but I move it asap when it is done... I think the issue is those owners who just leave their cars after they are done charging or just parked without a pllug... and also ICE cars parked for longer than 30 allowed minutes on some stations...
