Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

Stopped by this morning and snapped a few photos. Got some friendly waves from construction workers who were busy doing excavation work. The location will be nice given its proximity to decent places for a quick stop or a destination for passers-through. Not really a high rent area but there are a few gems in the area (hint: Los Rios district).

Yes, deep trenches are common - whatever the local code calls for. As far as the concrete block walls - maybe that's a local requirement too - some kind of true locking gate so people can't reach the switch cabinets.

I wouldn't be surprised if the property owner just didn't like the look of big metal boxes in the parking lot or something. Might be covering the walls with stucco or something.

Just stopped by tonight. They've started building two structures out of cinder block, which look like they will hold the supercharger cabinets. First time I've seen something like this at a supercharger.
There was a video posted that showed Tesla negotiating for installation of a supercharger in somewhere like CT or
VA. They asked for a concrete enclosure to match the neighboring buildings, IIRC.

@ RandyS ===>>Excellent pics.

The duration of the overall construction schedule (5 weeks in lieu of 3 weeks) @ beginning of this thread is partially contingent to building and finishing the CMU/stucco walls.
Those enclosure walls are probably mandated by local Architectural Review Committee (or Board) and/or property landlord.
